This odd-eyed , “two-faced” kitten was posted to reddit as “the coolest cat ever.” Finding it hard to disagree.
Lookit how his paws are split between black and orange as well!

Thanks to our new rubbable GIF technology, the Great Dream of the Internet Cat Era can be (sort of) realized.
I've been waiting for this moment all my life...
Life = Complete.
This essay should probably be laminated and presented with every new cat acquisition. I've taken the liberty of illustrating it with adorable cat pictures.

It's for science! Sixteen different species were filmed by the Georgia Institute of Technology, shaking it off in slow-mo, to determine who has to shake the hardest to get dry.
Source: youtube.com / via: viralviralvideos.com
LINK: The research paper this footage produced.
"In cold wet weather, mammals face hypothermia if they cannot dry themselves. By rapidly oscillating their bodies, through a process similar to shivering, furry mammals can dry themselves within seconds. We use high-speed videography and fur particle tracking to characterize the shakes of 33 animals (16 animals species and five dog breeds), ranging over four orders of magnitude in mass from mice to bears. We here report the power law relationship between shaking frequency f and body mass M to be f ∼ M−0.22, which is close to our prediction of f ∼ M−0.19 based upon the balance of centrifugal and capillary forces. We also observe a novel role for loose mammalian dermal tissue: by whipping around the body, it increases the speed of drops leaving the animal and the ensuing dryness relative to tight dermal tissue."

Baltimore's “Show Your Soft Side” campaign, which features pro athletes and other “tough guys” speaking out against animal cruelty, illustrates that being kind to animals is the strong (and the cute) thing to do.
His name is Ralph and he loses his feathers more quickly than other penguins during their annual moult, so he dons this charming wet suit to protect his sensitive skin from the sun. I think it's dashing, Ralph.
Ralph is in the market for a new wetsuit, as you can see that his older one is quite well-worn. Other than this moulting issue, though, 13-year-old Ralph is quite healthy.

Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei creates conceptual art that meshes the creative with the political, and he has done so in an environment that is relentlessly oppressive. After creating several controversial works of art and investigation regarding the collapse of shoddily constructed schools in Sichuan schools during the 2008 earthquake, Ai was incarcerated by Chinese authorities for 81 days in 2011 -- supposedly for "tax evasion." Since his release, Ai has continued to speak out against the Chinese government's suppression of speech, and remains active on twitter (unofficial English translation) and continues to produce art and to speak out. A documentary about Ai's life and activism, Ai Weiwei Never Sorry, was recently released in the U.S..
At his compound in China, Ai has over 40 cats and several dogs. These beautiful portraits of Ai with two of his favorite cats were taken by photographer Matthew Niederhauser.
