BANGOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. — On Monday afternoon, March 11, Scott Garrison was working his shift as a bartender when one of his coworkers saw two dogs walking on the frozen Kawkawlin River near the Castaways bar.
Garrison related the story to Cole Waterman of MLive "We were inside working and one of the girls I work with noticed a couple of dogs out roaming around on the river," Garrison said. "All of the sudden, she said, 'Oh my God, one fell in.' Basically, I just ran out the door and ran down to the bridge there that goes over the river. By the time I was just getting to the other side of the river, both dogs were in the water. They were kind of bobbing up and down and struggling, so I just jumped in."

After a dramatic struggle with the dogs trapped in the icy river, Garrison was able to hoist them out of the water and save their lives. He called the Bay County Animal Control, and stayed with the dogs until they showed up. "I just waited there with them until Animal Control came," he said. "I rubbed and petted them and made sure they were OK. They were OK, but they were definitely freaked out." After the dogs were picked up, Garrison changed clothes and went back to the bar to finish his shift. Animal control was eventually able to reunite the lost dogs with their grateful owner.
Not sure if this is the cutest or the saddest thing in the whole world. Maybe both.

He was given this little leopard (who was the same size as him!) as a comforter and now keeps leopard with him all the time! Meet Anchali, the baby elephant who's proof that elephants aren't just normal animal cute, they are exceptionally, painfully cute. Take note of her floppy ears, her wee little trunk, and her fuzzy head and knees. Does everyone thinks she's cute? Yeah, maybe. But that's because LOOK AT HOW CUTE SHE IS. The new Broadway production of Breakfast at Tiffany's opened to lukewarm reviews on Wednesday, but one star is receiving universally rave reviews, and may be letting it get to his head. The story's cat character, "Cat," is being played by a rotating cast of feline actors who have been embroiled in behind the scenes drama that has resulted in firing, hiring, stinky litterboxes, and rumors of over-the-top requests. As the cat 'divo' Vito Vincent steals the scene from 'mother of dragons' Emilia Clarke, one has to wonder if the fur is flying backstage.

BuzzFeed went backstage on Breakfast's opening day to see what all the meowing was about, and while new hire Chessie was ready to go in his dressing room, neither opening night Cat Vito Vincent nor his reported understudy Montie were anywhere to be found. A publicist for the production explained that while Montie was out of the show due to bad behavior, his name would remain on the playbill indefinitely – perhaps in deference to the work he put in tolerating the notoriously vain Vito Vincent, who was also yet to appear at his scheduled press shoot.
