The U.S. Secretary of State is recovering at home after fainting from dehydration.

The State Department has reported that U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has sustained a concussion after fainting. She has been sick with a stomach virus, and the department says that Secretary Clinton was dehydrated because of her sickness. She is recovering at home while being monitored by doctors. Aide Philippe Reins says that Secretary Clinton will work from home next week at the recommendation of her doctors. Congressional hearings on Benghazi are scheduled for this week, but there was already some question about whether Secretary Clinton would testify. Reins' statement concluded that Clinton "is looking forward to being back in the office soon."

Hochsprung, 47, was one of those killed in the massacre at the elementary school that she was devoted to. Her twitter account was singularly devoted to her pride and enthusiasm for Sandy Hook elementary students and their education.

One of the victims of the shooting in Newtown, Conn. on Friday was school principal Dawn Hochsprung, who friends remember as a "hero" who dedicated to helping kids. Hochsprung, 47, was also raising five girls at home – two of her own daughters and three step-children.

Reports claim that Hochsprung and another adult at the school ran towards the sounds of gunfire. Today reports that her friends say they were not surprised. Former colleague Gerald Stomski said that "when Dawn was the principal in our school system, we talked about this exact type of incident. She certainly was inspiring and put her children first, and it was no surprise to me that she came to them. She’s actually a hero today."

Mark Boughton, the mayor of nearby Danbury, Conn., knew Dawn well. He said that "as a teacher I’ll tell you, our number one rule is to protect the health, safety and welfare of our children, and that was always at the forefront of Dawn’s mind in everything she did – health, safety and general welfare to make sure those kids were safe."

Hochsprung's twitter profile illustrates her passion for education and children, as every single tweet is enthusiastically devoted to her pride in Sandy Hook Elementary and its students, or to sharing important principals of education.

Yesterday at 2:27 p.m. –— just a few hours after the shooting in Connecticut was first reported — an account called @CTNewtown was created. The account's first tweet claimed it would donate money to Sandy Hook elementary and the victims for every retweet. UPDATE: The Twitter account was deleted on Saturday night, shortly after this post was published.

There is no information at all about who created the account or how the money is being donated.

The St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Newtown is roughly one mile from Sandy Hook Elementary.

Reuters reports that the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church was evacuated early Sunday after a bomb threat was reported by officials. The threat was reported during Sunday's services at the church, which is a mile from where 28 people were shot and killed on Friday.

Martine Powers was on the scene and tweeted "At St. Rose Church in #Newtown, parishioners asked to evacuate building because of "threat to the church"." She wrote that paramedics, firefighters, SWAT, and state police surrounded the church in the wake of the evacuation.

Later, Powers tweeted "It looks like #Newtown officials no longer worried about threat; some state police in camo got in a car and drove away," and reported that the threat was apparently made by phone and things appear to be safe for now, but that events at the church are cancelled for the day.

The time of the pika, an American lagomorph (rabbits, hares, and these guys), has been overdue ever since I did a report on them in third grade. These little charmers spend all summer carrying really thoughtful arrangements of flowers and grasses around in their mouths and then spend all winter pigging out, loving one another and, probably, watching Love, Actually on little pika TVs. Pikas: they're just like us.
